This year’s Spring Preview Open House on Sunday, April 22, was the biggest yet with more than 3,000 students and family members in attendance.

The Spring Preview is an event that invites all admitted incoming freshmen to campus to learn more about Mason. The event includes housing and dining tours, a student organization fair, college overview sessions, and an official welcome to the university by faculty, staff, alumni, and current students.

The event kicked off in EagleBank Arena with a warm welcome courtesy of the Green Machine followed by a presentation from Mason President Ángel Cabrera, Dean of Admissions Amy Takayama-Perez, and Director of Undergraduate Admissions Melissa Bevacqua.

Afterward, students had the opportunity to tour campus and learn more about what life is like as a Patriot. Throughout the day, students attended sessions where they heard firsthand from current Mason students and faculty about the experiences they would gain by joining the incoming class of 2022.

Many faculty spoke about the academic programs at each college. Students gained a better understanding of what is required of them to complete their degree programs as well as how to acquire the necessary skills needed to excel.

Mason Nation prides itself on hosting more than 350 registered student organizations on campus, and more than 100 of them were able to attend Yard Fest, which included musical performances, competitions, and opportunities to join organizations. Mason students highlighted the value of getting involved on campus and shared what those experiences mean to them.

Prospective students were able to create connections long before actually beginning their career at Mason.
