Provost Review Committee hosts open forum

President Ángel Cabrera recently established the Provost Review Committee to advise him on the performance and reappointment of Provost David Wu. The committee is charged with providing information to the President that will be helpful to him in his consideration of the prospective re-appointment of Provost Wu.

As part of that charge, the Committee will host an Open Forum at the Johnson Center Cinema from 2-3 p.m. on April 10. At this forum, Provost Wu will reflect on his first term and share his vision for a prospective second term. He also will respond to questions.

For those who cannot attend in person, the forum will be made available at the Arlington (Founders Hall Room 720) and SciTech (Bull Run Room 254) campuses via BlueJeans. It also will be recorded.

The committee invites feedback in a variety of ways including:

  • Members of the Mason community will be invited to provide feedback anonymously to the Committee through a specially designed online portal. Information about accessing this portal will be forthcoming. The portal will also include a document prepared by Provost Wu that highlights his work during his first term and outlines his vision for a prospective second term.
  • Members of the Committee will be meeting with several “communities of interest” within the university to invite their feedback.
  • Members of the Committee individually also will be available to accept feedback from individual members of the Mason community.

Your consideration and involvement in this important review process is appreciated.
