The George Mason University community will formally welcome another valuable new academic and research facility with the April 12 dedication of the Potomac Science Center.

The program, which begins at 2:45 p.m., will include comments from Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax, Mason President Ángel Cabrera, U.S. Congressman Gerry Connolly and other local and state political representatives. Peggy Agouris, the dean of the College of Science, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.

Located on Belmont Bay in Woodbridge, Va. near the mouth of the Occoquan River, the Potomac Science Center is a 50,000-square-foot research facility that houses laboratories for teaching and research, lecture rooms, event space and outdoor trails.

The $32 million waterfront building, which opened for use this fall, is home to the College of Science’s Potomac Environmental Research and Education Center (PEREC) and its Center for Geospatial Intelligence.

Free parking will be available in the parking deck. Click here for directions.
