Energy-Water Nexus focuses on advancing understanding of the most basic and critical needs of the 21st century
Fairfax, VA -- The Center for Energy Science and Policy (CESP), a joint-initiative of the Schar School of Science and Policy and the College of Science at George Mason University, presents Mason Energy Symposium -- Energy-Water Nexus on April 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fairfax Campus in Research Hall Room 163.
The event is hosted by CESP Co-Directors Ambassador (ret.) Richard D. Kauzlarich and Paul Houser of the Schar School and College of Science.
The second annual Mason Energy Symposium focuses on the important nexus between energy and water. The event will advance understanding of the international and domestic aspects of the most basic and critical needs in the 21st century – abundant and reliable supply of water and energy. It will also explore the particular role of off-shore renewable (wind) energy and associated technologies.
The full-day event will feature three panels of independent experts on energy and water from the Departments of State and Interior, think tanks, media, Mason faculty, and private sector consultants. Panel I is focused on offshore renewable energy. Panel II will examine the domestic and international aspects of the water and energy nexus. Panel III will discuss Mason energy-water research opportunities.
The afternoon will provide Mason students and faculty opportunities to showcase their work relating to energy and water through presentations and posters.
The luncheon speaker will be Ambassador (ret) Mary Warlick, former Assistant Secretary in the Department of State’s Bureau of Energy Resources. The event is free but registration is required here.
