For Honors College students, December brings more than final exams, winter holidays and a relaxing break from school. The annual Fall Research Poster Exhibition – the culminating feature of the Honors 110 and Honors 302 Research Method courses – makes for an eventful December afternoon.
On December 8th, 2017, from 2:30-4:00pm, 60 Honors College students presented their original research in Dewberry Hall. The Honors College Advisory Board, faculty, special guests, and the public browsed and listened to students communicating the excitment of conducting research, often in their first semester at Mason.
About three students from each Honors 110 or Honors 302 section were selected to present. Dr. John Woolsey, an Honors College professor who mentors Honors College students in their research endeavors described the selection process, suggesting that because so many projects are of very high quality, “classes and instructors work together to select the projects that are most representative of the process associated with the course,” rather than selecting the "best" projects.
