Governor’s Fellowships application deadline: March 18

The deadline for submitting an application for the Virginia Governor’s Fellows Program is Sunday, March 18. The fellowship is open to rising college seniors, graduating seniors or those enrolled as degree candidates in a graduate or professional school.

“If you are an outstanding student who is interested in public policy, you should consider strongly the Virginia Governor’s Fellows Program,” said Margaret Graham, Mason’s General Assembly assistant in Richmond. “As a Fellow you will have focused, firsthand experiences in a cabinet area, as well as access to all areas of government through interaction with other Fellows. It is excellent way to participate in state government and build your professional network.”

Those selected for the program will work in positions in one of 15 departments in Gov. Ralph Northam’s office from June 4 to Aug. 3, 2018. Program administrators attempt to match fellows with compatible assignments according to background, interest and future goals.
