Columnist Ross Douthat next to join Tyler Cowen in ‘Conversation’

Douthat

New York Times columnist and author Ross Douthat is the next guest in the “Conversations With Tyler” series of 90-minute staged interviews with George Mason University economist Tyler Cowen. Douthat meets Cowen at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at Founders Hall Auditorium on Mason’s Arlington Campus.

Douthat began writing for the New York Times as a columnist and blogger in 2009, replacing Bill Kristol as a conservative voice for the editorial page. Douthat’s forthcoming book “To Change the Church: Pope Francis and the Future of Catholicism” explores Pope Francis’s controversial governance of the Catholic Church and the apparent divide it is creating in Christianity throughout the world.

Cowen is Holbert L. Harris Chair of Economics at Mason and serves as chairman and general director of the Mercatus Center at Mason.
