The Washington Business Journal’s annual ranking of influential local business leaders list, the Power 100, includes three representatives from the Mason Nation.
George Mason University president Ángel Cabrera makes his fifth annual appearance on the list: “[He] has earned high marks for maintaining Mason’s place in the education world—and growing it.” Cabrera became Mason’s sixth president in 2012.
Stephen Fuller, director of the Stephen S. Fuller Institute at the Schar School of Policy and Government. “He continues to sound warning bells over the region’s economic future….” Fuller joined Mason’s faculty in 1994. He became director of the Center for Regional Analysis in 2002 before opening the Fuller Institute this year.
Milt Peterson and Jon Peterson, chairman and principal of the Peterson Companies: “[L]egends in local real estate, developing major projects throughout the region.” Jon Peterson is vice rector of the university. The Peterson Family Health Sciences Hall, set to open in January on the Fairfax Campus, was made possible by a $10 million gift from the Petersons.
