Phone System Issues: VoIP
Yesterday, August 21, a scheduled software update for the Voice over IP (VoIP) phone system encountered problems which resulted in a number of telephones failing to reconnect to the system. In some cases, the phones did not automatically complete the upgrade process. To complete this upgrade, simply pick up the receiver of the phone and place it back down. If your phone then asks to upgrade the firmware press the button underneath “Yes.” The phone will then complete the upgrade.
If your phone’s display is not requesting an upgrade and is still not working, contact the ITU Support Center (703-993-8870 or support@gmu.edu) and have an incident opened so that a technician can be dispatched to work on the issue.
