Sara Kohn Rhoades, recent graduate from the MS Nutrition program, was awarded “Best Student Research” at the annual Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior conference. Overseen by Dr. Sina Gallo, Nutrition & Food Studies, Sara developed a nutrition education program (“CHEW”) for Latino families with a child who is overweight/obese. She found the 6-month program was well-accepted by families and led to positive changes in children’s weight.
