From handling the Mason Enterprise Center’s most complex IT issues to managing client communication and operations, there is no task too complex for Aziza Noory. The Enterprise Center’s client support coordinator has been named George Mason University’s May Employee of the Month.

Noory was nominated by Neda Delavarpour, assistant manager of the Mason Enterprise Center in Fairfax, who describes Noory as a helpful colleague and friend.

“Aziza is a genuine and friendly employee who treats our diverse client and staff community with respect and professionalism,” Delavarpour said. “She works efficiently and effectively, finding new ways to accomplish tasks in the highest quality for lowest cost and least wasteful.”

Noory juggles a number of daily tasks, including IT systems programming and troubleshooting, managing client relations for 145 virtual and resident businesses, daily website updates and writing a monthly newsletter. Described by her peers as a real go-getter, she said she balances her work by prioritizing her responsibilities and putting clients’ needs first.

“I don’t wait for ‘I’ll do it tomorrow, I’ll do it in 10 minutes.’ I just finish things right away and accomplish it all,” Noory said.

Brian Steffan, president of Steffan & Co. Inc., whose business works with the Enterprise Center, said that Noory should be the employee of the year, not just the month.

“[Noory] has always been the epitome of warmth and professionalism,” Steffan said. “She is my technical guru and has always looked out for me and my business.”

A Mason alumna, Noory graduated from Mason with a degree in management information systems, which she says is the perfect combination of working with IT and with businesses.

“It’s part of my personality to help people,” she said. “This job helps people to grow their businesses, so by me helping their business, they can grow and succeed and move on from the incubator. It makes me feel proud.”

Delavarpour said Noory is always prepared to help clients, even if that means resolving equipment malfunctions.

“Her amazing work ethic is the foundation of her reputation and her friendly personality is the heart of it,” Delavarpour said. “She builds an environment of teamwork through her willingness to be involved in all aspects of the office.”

Mason President Ángel Cabrera will present Noory with her award at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 1, in his office on the fifth floor of Merten Hall. Her family, co-workers and friends are all encouraged to attend the ceremony. Those who are unable to attend the ceremony may watch the Facebook livestream at www.facebook.com/workingatmason.
