FiveThirtyEight’s Nate Silver takes his chances with Tyler Cowen

What are the odds Nate Silver would make an appearance at George Mason University?

The country’s foremost data analyst and statistician—he’s the founder and editor-in-chief of FiveThirtyEight—is the next guest to take the hot seat across from Mason economist Tyler Cowen in the series “Conversations with Tyler.”

Cowen and Silver will have their conversation from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at  Founders Hall Auditorium at Mason’s Arlington Campus.

“Nate is a genius, and he has revolutionized our understanding of elections and how to predict them,” Cowen said. Cowen wants to know from Silver, among other things, “how we can make a better world and what are we doing wrong at the moment?” “what is the most underrated statistic in assessing a baseball player?” and “what will you do if, in fact, Donald Trump goes on to win the Republican presidential nomination?”
