CHHS students, including members of the Student Nurses Association, participated in the second annual Fear 2 Freedom event on Mason’s Fairfax Campus.
Participants assembled 350 after-care kits, which are an essential element to healing provided for those affected by sexual assault, child abuse, domestic violence, and sex trafficking. The kits contain toiletries, clothing, a teddy bear, and a note, handwritten by volunteers with a special message for victims of rape and domestic violence.
Fear 2 Freedom is a nonprofit focused on bringing hope and healing to people affected by sexual abuse. The organization partners with hospitals, universities, and communities to provide the after-care kits as a way to support those impacted by sexual abuse.
The kits assembled during the event were distributed to Mason’s Student Health Services, Wellness, Alcohol and Violence Education Services, and local area hospitals in Fairfax and Prince William counties. Learn more about Mason’s event and Fear 2 Freedom.
