George Mason University is supporting the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to produce a film about an emergency response scenario on a university campus. Filming will begin on Sunday, January 4 and will end January 13 on George Mason University’s Prince William Campus. Film crews, emergency vehicles, actors and emergency response personnel primarily will be moving in and around Bull Run Hall. As noted below, limited filming will also involve Cannon Creek Lane and the Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center. Signage will be posted throughout campus to indicate restricted areas and alternate routes. Filming will not impede emergency egress from, or access to, campus or buildings. However, this event may create some inconveniences for the Prince William Campus community.
Note:
- Access to Bull Run Hall will be restricted on January 4. If you need access to Bull Run on January 4, contact Davis Farris at dfarris@gmu.edu or Carrie McVicker at cgrubb1@gmu.edu.
- The Bull Run parking lot will be closed for filming January 4-13.
- Cannon Creek Lane on the Prince William Campus will be closed January 5 for filming of a staged traffic jam.
- Portions of the Bull Run Hall atrium and second floor will be closed January 5-6.
- Events, Governor’s School classes, and biomed classes in Bull Run Hall on January 5-7 will be relocated.
- The rear entrance and rear patio of Bull Run Hall will be closed to foot traffic January 8-9.
- George Mason Circle near The EDGE Trail and Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center will be closed January 8-9 for exterior filming.
- On January 13, filming will occur around the exterior of Bull Run Hall.
This is an opportunity for the university to partner with local emergency response agencies and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
