The university community is saddened by the loss of Natalie Webster, telecommunications analyst and a six-year employee of the Technology Systems Division of the Information Technology Unit, who passed away on Wednesday, April 23, from a brain aneurysm. She was 56 years old.

According to her Telecommunications (Telecom) Administration family, Natalie was known for bringing life to the office and helping to keep everything in perspective. She was knowledgeable, professional, and always willing to share her expertise with others; she will be remembered most for her smile and ability to bring laughter to the group.

Outside of work, Natalie was an active participant in her community. She was the president of her homeowners association, a mentor and teacher to young adults in her church, and the secretary of the Uhuru Quilters Guild.

She was devoted to her family and friends, and consistently put others before herself.

“Natalie was a very special member of the ITU team and of Mason,” said Marilyn T. Smith, vice president for Information Technology and CIO. “She always approached her work with a desire to understand and help, and she had boundless positive energy.”

She is survived by her mother and father; husband, John; daughter, Ashley; two sisters; and one brother.

A wake is scheduled for Thursday, May 1, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 2020 St. Joseph Drive, Largo, Maryland 20774, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. For more information, visit www.adamsfuneralhomemd.com/Obituaries.html.
